On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I have the honor and the great pleasure to invite you to the 1st Panhellenic Congress on Surgical Clinical Oncology in Makedonia, which will take place at MakedoniaPalace Hotel, on August 30th – September 1st 2007 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
It is essential to note that this meeting is co-organized with the 1st Surgical Propedeutic Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Lister Surgical Department of Glasgow University.
The aim of this Congress is to bring together experts of all spectrums of the Upper Gastrointestinal Surgical malignant diseases as well as different disciplines of Oncology. This National and International collaboration of expert surgeons and other specialists will provide the participants with the opportunity to obtain all advanced information regarding the progress in the field of Oncology, through lectures, symposia, roundtable discussions, debate sessions, video sessions, educational workshop programs, and free paper presentations. The aim of this meeting will be focused on the issue of Surgical Oncology in Pancreatic, Hepatobiliary and Esophagogastric diseases as well as in other disciplines of Oncology(beast cancer,etc).
Scientists and Researchers from different several medical specialties such as Surgery, Internal Medicine, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Gastroenterology, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Gynecology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, ENT, etc as well as non-medical researchers from various scientific fields but in close relations to the malignant diseases, will have the opportunity to present their experience.
The young investigator committee will be a “valuable milestone” of this congress. The meeting includes postgraduate courses and workshops in upper GIA Surgery from expert speakers from all over the world. Subsequently, the participants will have the opportunity to acquire essential and vital contacts and to enrich their knowledge and broaden their academic background.
Thessaloniki, the capital of Northern Greece, Greece’s co-capital, has a history over 2300 years. Extraordinary monuments reflecting its brilliant past, including beautiful Byzantine churches, can be seen throughout the city. Pella, the first capital of Makedonian’s, Vergina, the capital of Alexander the Great, Dion, the sacred city of Makedonians, Mt. Olympus, the home of the gods of antiquity, Mt. Athos, the cradle of Orthodox monasticism, Sagira, the birthplace of Aristotle (the Great Philosopher) demonstrates the archaeological and spiritual greatness of the area around Thessaloniki.
Dear Colleagues, we sincerely hope that the 1st Panhellenic Congress on Clinical Oncology will be the foundation for the establishment of an efficient and valuable future of Clinical Oncology. We have in progress an interesting scientific meeting combined with cultural events of the host city.
